Honda C90’s did battle with trials bikes and quads and a sea of Enduro machinery in the SMCC EndurOgasm event held at Carnegrie on June 27th. Club jester Jason McNee excelled himself in organising one of the most ridiculous and fun events seen for many years with extra laps added to riders on slower or less well suited machinery as well as riding ability.

The result was a topsy turvy finishing order with Richard Murphy, Robert Bakker sharing the rostrum with TT and World Championship Grand Prix legend Dave Leach.

Best entertainment award and a testament to Honda engineering were the trio of Rory Howell, Russell Moore and Tom Dawson (all dressed for the office) winners of the 1 hour C90 class. Each of them had various difficulties to overcome including lack of adequate footwear and loss of a top box, flapping centre stands but all made it to the finish.

Evening entertainment included Round 1 of the SMCC summer series club trial, BBQ and the very popular moped special test course.  The MopedGp finally finished at midnight with best lap going to Aaron Smith from Mark Crellin (best dressed man award) and Russell Millward with a notable performance from Richard Skillicorn whose pocket was considerably lighter after the event.

Jason would like to thank everyone involved especially Nick Cannon who set out huge amounts of the track on his own and didn’t even ride! Dougie and Angie for BBQ, Sandy Hannay and the bar staff.

Mark ’shiner/pizza topped mattress’ Hutchinson and Richard Skillicorn for  taking in the course despite being extraordinarily drunk the night before.

EndurOgasm Handicap Fun Event Results

The final motorcycling event of TT 2009 was the Southern MCC Enduro Round 4 held at Sulby Claddaghs with special tests in Sky Hill and Ohio plantations with going between on the upland Sky Hill greenway roads. With fantastic weather and the plantations in a very dry state the course was only subject to limited deterioration throughout the event.

Expert Juan Knight was the outright winner setting the best time on each test except for his first run through Ohio no doubt taking his time to settle into the route before steadily setting quicker times than 2nd placed man Barry Kinley. Ben Begbie had another solid run in 3rd.
