The event gave competitors two contrasting special tests … the first, Arrasey Plantation offering challenging forest obstacles; the second at Ballaspit Farmland with its steep open grassland.

The Expert class held a very strong field of 12 riders.  It was a closely fought contest with only 10 seconds splitting the top two riders, Russell Millward and Chris Madigan, after 5 tests around Ballaspit … in the end Russell Millward stretched out a lead in the Arrasey tests, winning the class by 60 seconds.  Chris Madigan  came in a strong 2nd, with Nigel Crellin a commanding 3rd.  It was great to see the young up and coming riders Craig Norrey, Olly Megson and Craig Mcgee rounding out the top six placings.

Alan Heath put in a strong performance winning the Clubman class by almost two minutes.  Ex-motorcross rider, Jamie Wright (on his second ever endur0) came in 2nd, followed 16 seconds later by 3rd placing, James Foxley who was flying the flag for the TT visitors.

Dave Leach, David Leece and Ian Bailey battled it out in the Sportsman class.  In the end Dave Leach took top spot by 17 seconds.  David Leece pipped Ian Bailey to 2nd place by only  4 seconds.  An exceptional performance by Ian Bailey as it was only his 2nd timecard event, getting faster as the event progressed, if only he had one more lap!

The event organiser, Bob Clague, would like to give special thanks to the landowners of Ballaspit Farm and to Phil Kennaugh for allowing the club to use his land to get between the two tests.

The club is grateful for its timeteepers – Kim Gasgoyne, Steve Smith, Sam Curphy, Liz Childerley, Phil Dearden Gordon Adshead (and his daughter, Katie) and to Bob’s mum and dad.  Thanks must also go to Russell Millward, Ian Bailey and Peter Clague for their assistance in setting out the tests.  We must also not forget the Hogg Ambulance crew for their continued support and looking after our riders … Mark Crellin hurt his arm  and we hope you are back on the bike soon Mark .

The Ballaspit test is finished and ready to be walked, it starts and finishes at the top gate as normal. Arrasey will be done this afternoon, it starts at the top quarry on the right and finishes at the lower quarry. The tests are going to be well marked with tape, being lost will NOT be a valid excuse for being outside of the course.

10.00am till 4.00pm arrive and ride at any time, all solos welcome.
£5.00 entry, ACU licences required.

Entry fees are carried over but not entries, new paperwork must be completed.

SMCC Easter Monday Fun Enduro supporting Breakthrough Breast Cancer will take place again at Magnetic Mountain using Paul Costains farmland and Earystane plantation.

The format for the event is a Hare & Hounds multi lap Enduro.

Sign on night Wednesday 1st May at Tynwald Inn St Johns 8pm

Motocross bikes are allowed fitted with enduro tyres marked FIM Enduro

Entries are open for riders aged 15 and over, entry fee includes a charitable donation.

A raffle of TYRES and EASTER EGGS will also take place tickets £3

In addition to the above hair and hounds event centre round 3 ( only the 2nd round this year) will be run at St Johns carpark with special tests in Archallagan and Eairy Stane plantations.

Entrys can be posted or entered on the above sign on night.
